He doesn't want to alienate himself from potential fans who might benefit from the light he is able to imbue in his works.) (This is also precisely why Smith has refrained from calling his series a Christian series. After all, there are many aspects of our world that go against the doctrines of Christianity, but if we as a wiki were to condemn them all, we would have to disregard many parts of The Green Ember series itself (witchcraft, murder, lying, etc.). So to scold a user (myself, in this case, obviously) for saying something simply because it isn't in agreement with one's faith is to, in the long run, alienate this wiki from a large group of people. Smith is a Christian and most of his fans are Christians, The Green Ember is not a Christian series - even Smith has requested that it not be referred to as such. If we were a wiki for, say, VeggieTales, then such a rebuke would be more justified. If a different user, new to this wiki, had used the phrase "God save us" or "OMG" and you scolded them for it, I would probably have left you a message asking you not to do so again.

#GREEN EMBER SERIES IN ORDER CODE#
But saying "Oh my ***," "Jeez," or any other phrases taking God's name in vain, though it may be against your personal code of conduct, is not against our rules.

You didn't like my choice of words, and I respect that. I think it needs to be said, however, as a reminder to everyone (myself included) that one shouldn't call someone out on something that is not against our rules. I will take note, and appreciate your advice. Like I said, I was being sarcastic but sarcasm doesn't always translate well via online discourse, and clearly, this is one of those times. Large Green Ember prints/posters/maps (a few of these have been handed out during special events, like the one I went to in 2019, but I've never seen them available to buy)Ī Green Ember or Whitson Stone necklace (seriously, how are these not a thing?!)Īnother volume of Melodies for the Mended Wood Smith has sponsored the ones put out by Wooly Willows on Etsy, but as far as I know, he doesn't consider them official)Ī Green Ember sweater, sweatshirt, or jersey (maybe it could say "Bear the Flame!" over the front or back?) But are there any Green Ember items you'd love to purchase that haven't been put out there? Here are a few I'd like to see:Ī Green Ember cookbook (authored by Gort and Slimmo, perhaps?)Ī Green Ember sticker book/pack, featuring all the stickers that have been released to date (and hopefully some new ones) Smith has released some great Green Ember-themed merchandise over the years, from shirts to swords to ornaments.
